Biography
Chris lived in Papua New Guinea during his younger years and then joined the Royal Australian Navy where he spent the next eight years. He is a qualified chef, who was one of seven people chosen to cook for the Queen during her visit to Australia in the 80s. Chris decided the Nacy wasn't for him and and took ten years 'off' to circumnavigate Australia by car.
Chris started performing comedy in October '97 and in just six months had won the prestigious triple j Raw Comedy Award for Australia's best new talent. It didn't take him long to rise to feature status. His accomplishments are outstanding and they include:
- PBS Radio Golden Storm Award for Best Up & Coming Comedian
- National Triple J Raw Comedy winner for Best New Comedian
- Grand Finalist National Green Faces Comedy Competition in Canberra
- Double Platinum sales for his hit single 'Bloke'
- Aria Nomination 'Best Comedy Release' for 'Bloke
- Aria Nomination for 'Highest Selling Single' forBloke
- Chris' first live DVD 'Let Bogans be Bogans' was released in November 2006
Chris has performed with Jimeoin, Steady Eddy, Garry Who, Carl Barron, Anh Do, Elliot Goblet, Raymond J Bartholomew, Marty Fields, The Empty Pockets, Peter Rowsthorn, Bob Franklin, Ross Daniels, Stevie Starr, Mr Methane and rock bands The Angels, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets, Yothu Yindi and the Radiators (to name a few)
Chris' first CD single was released on January 31, 2000 through EMI Music Australia entitled 'Bloke'. A hilarious send up of Meredith Brooks' song 'Bitch', the song landed at Number 15 first week in ad subsequently went to number one achieving platinum sales exceeding 120,000.
Chris has released a further single which was nominated in the 2001 Aria Awards for 'Best Comedy Release' entitled 'Mullet Head' a parody of the hit single 'Gimme Head' by THe Radiators.
His TV credits include The Footy Show, Headliners, Recovery, Stand Up Australia & Good News Week (among others).
