Contestants must be amateur. This is defined by not earning more than $8000 per annum for comedy.
You can only enter once unless invited back by one of the judges.
Anyone of any age can enter the competition although minors must be accompanied by an adult.
You do not have to be a member of the Canberra Irish Club to enter the competition - however if you are a member a $200 members bonus will apply if you win.
The emphasis is on fun and Comedy.
The Comedy Store and The Sit Down Comedy Club are for exposure only, there is no payment involved. You can determine a week that suits you best.
The organisers of the event reserve the right to film the event and own the footage.
There is no charge to enter the competition.
Order of appearance will be at the discretion of the event organisers.
First in best dressed, however, as people will pull out a waiting list will be kept.
There is no restriction on the amount of people in the show except that if you have more than ten you will find it hard to fit on the stage.
Your act can be up to ten minutes long or as short as you wish.
The act must be original. If you are caught using other people's material then you will be disqualified.
Transport and accommodation is supplied by the event organisers however, you must contact us and let us know that you need this.
Audience voting determines the winner, however, judges decision is final.
